Author Visit with Sara Brunsvold

Award-winning Kansas author Sara Brunsvold will be joining us in store on Saturday, April 6 to chat about her newest book, "The Divine Proverb of Streusel".
Sara will share with us the story behind the story--what inspired her to write this deeply moving book about a young woman seeking to understand her father's choices and the impact they have on herself.
We'll also sample some German recipes that are found throughout the book as part of the story.
The book follows Nikki, who is reeling from her parent's recent divorce and even questioning her own relationship with her serious boyfriend. She runs away to her uncle's farm--the childhood home of her father.
She decides to spend the summer there to connect with family from the past --by cooking her way through an old family cookbook--to help her understand the present.
"What started as a cathartic way to connect to her heritage soon becomes the means through which she learns how the women before her endured--with the help of their cooking prowess and a healthy dollop of faith."--from the back of the book
Brunsvold's debut novel, "The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip has won numerous awards including the Christy Award for First Novel.
